The DECODE project is focused on overcoming the difficulties that operators, professionals, and volunteers in cultural tourism face, especially in Europe’s rural and economically challenged regions. As cultural tourism becomes more popular within the EU, rural enterprises are hindered by issues in collaboration and a lack of skills within their workforce. This project is designed to assist these local entities by providing necessary training in skills, integrating digital technologies, and creating a digital platform for resources. We aim to acknowledge and certify the skills participants gain through a system of open badges.

The main goal of the DECODE policy paper is to offer policy suggestions for education in cultural tourism, based on a thorough survey conducted by SYNTHESIS.
